With the new ARM9-based DIL/NetPC DNP/9265, SSV presents a compact and energy-efficient computer-on-module for complex embedded networking applications. In addition to a TCP/IP stack with SSL support and SPI firewall, the Linux operating system preinstalled in the flash memory adds special embedded Internet capabilities. These include HTTP/HTTPS web server with FastCGI, SQlite database, PHP 5.3 with JSON, and LibGD and Gnuplot for dynamic creation of images. Furthermore, this newly developed DIL/NetPC offers various web client functions, for transmitting any given data in XML or JSON format to an external server using an HTTP POST or GET operation, for example. It also features an embedded twitter client. The DNP/9265 can thus automatically create short text messages for a Twitter microblog to announce important state changes.
Aside from a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet LAN interface, the DNP/9265 offers a multitude of other interfaces such as 1x ISO/11898A 2.0B CAN, 1x USB 2.0 Host, 3x UART, 1x SPI Master/Slave, 1x I2C Master/Slave, 20-bit GPIO and an SD card interface. The mechanical form factor is the convenient DIL-40 format with a module area of 55 x 23 mm. That makes it interchangeable with other members of the DIL/NetPC family. A starter kit is available with the DNP/SK30 for evaluation purposes. This includes a baseboard with a 40-pin DIL connector for the DNP/9265, 1x LAN with RJ45, 1x CAN on a pin connector, 2x RS232 as 9-pin Sub-D connector, and a breadboard area for customizations.
