SSV: HMI-module with embedded web browser

SSV is offering the touchscreen-based control unit EUI/57V with a preinstalled web browser in Webkit format. The realization of even sophisticated web-based HMI interfaces for machine and equipment operation is now possible. A 5.7" TFT LCD with VGA resolution  and 64K colours serves as display for the EUI/57V. The browser is operated directly via the touch screen. It supports HTML 4.0, JavaScript, AJAX, GIF, PNG and other important web standards and is always used in full screen mode. Individual Internet addresses cannot be entered in this mode. The user merely navigates via the hyperlinks of the preinstalled web sites. Once installed, the user interface is accessed from the local embedded web server of the control unit.

Unlike conventional control concepts, visualization is not limited to the local control unit, because the web interface can also be accessed via the Intranet or Internet and is thereby available throughout the whole company network. Only one standard web browser is required on the linked PCs. To establish connections with the environment, 2x RS232, 1x RS485, 1x 10/100 Mbps Ethernet LAN, 1x CAN, 8x TTL-GPIO, 2x USB 2.0 Host and one CompactFlash slot are available. Embedded Linux is used as operating system.
